Now as I am a photographer, strangely my first post is about shooting a video on my Nikon D800.
This is the first DSLR camera I have owned that has video capabilities, more and more clients nowadays are looking to get both still images and video at assignments. So learning to use this option can only help me move forward and open more opportunities.
I found shooting video very straight forward, using a fast aperture where possible gives that great shallow depth of field look when needed. The difficulty comes in post production with the audio side of things. The camera’s own mic is very poor so I have to use a separate sound recording device and match these in Final Cut Pro X.
So here are a couple of examples, both shot at the Crossfit box in Telford where I am a member;
